RIM cited figures from GfK that claimed BlackBerry was responsible for 26.3 percent of all smartphone sales during December 2011. Furthermore, the figures also revealed that on average across the whole year, BlackBerry accounted for 27.7 percent of the market, which RIM says makes it the best selling smartphone brand in the UK for the second year running....

Banking giant BBVA moves internal apps to Google cloud BBVA, one of Spain’s largest banks, is moving desktop applications to Google Apps’ cloud computing systems. Brits drunk in 76% of Facebook photos UK Facebook users are drunk in more than three quarters (76 percent) of pictures they’re tagged in on the social networking site, says MyMemory.com. Research of more than 1,700 Brits that use the social network revealed just 12 percent have changed their default privacy settings so only they themselves can see the pictures they are tagged in. However, 26 percent admitted that anyone can see photos of them on the site, while more than half (58 percent) said their privacy settings restricted it just to those they are friends with on the site....

Facebook unfriends coal, friends Greenpeace Greenpeace International has ended a long-running campaign calling on Facebook to “unfriend coal” as a source of energy for its data centers, after Facebook agreed to promote clean and renewable energy, the two said Thursday.
