The outage has been attributed to a ransomware attack, according to sources who spoke toTechCrunch. Two anonymous sources claimedWastedLocker, a new type of ransomware, was to blame. It works by locking the user’s files in exchange for ransom. The incident lasted from Wednesday into the weekend and took out much of the functionality of services like Garmin Connect and flyGarmin, the company’s user activity and aviation route planning software, respectively....
