Ancient bugs and Apollo 11 the new AR fun in Google Arts & Culture app

Google has updated its fun Arts & Culture app with new AR features, including the ability to drop prehistoric creatures into real life through your phone’s viewfinder

In a collaboration with London’s Natural History Museum, Moscow’s State Darwin Museum and others, you can check out weird and wonderful ancient beasts like the Cambropachycope and introduce it to your cat.

The app will show you the scale it’s rendering the 3D model in and let you drop it into a real-life scene to take a photo, video, or screen recording.

The creatures are joined by a few other fun cultural additions such as being able to drop the Apollo 11 command module at scale into a space.

Google’s Arts & Culture app has been around for a while now, and still lets you take a selfie tosee what artwork you look most like. You can download it now for free oniOSorAndroid.
