AppleCare+ for the iPad Pro covers the new Magic Keyboard accessory
Apple has just released theMagic Keyboard for the iPad Pro, and while it looks like a great accessory, it’s also very expensive starting at £299 for the 11in and rising to £349 for the 12.9in version. So it’s good to know that if you buy AppleCare+ for your iPad Pro, that will also cover your new Magic Keyboard purchase (via9to5Mac).
The AppleCare+ package for the iPad Pro costs £129 for two years, and with the news that that includes both Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil accidental damage cover, it’s welcome news even if the solution is expensive. According to Apple’s support page:
“AppleCare+ is an insurance product that provides up to two years of expert technical support1and hardware coverage for iPad, Apple Pencil and Apple-branded iPad keyboard, including up to two incidents of accidental damage, each subject to an excess fee of £39 for iPad and £25 for Apple Pencil or Apple-branded iPad keyboard. Coverage begins on your AppleCare+ purchase date.”
Considering the price of both the iPad and its accessories, an excess fee of £39 to get a new Magic Keyboard if you happen to damage it is probably a good shout.
