B&O Beolit 20 Bluetooth speaker has a built-in wireless charger

Bang & Olufsen (B&O) has announced a new addition to its Bluetooth speaker range. The Beolit 20 is a portable yet beastly speaker and can even wirelessly charge your smartphone.

The speaker comes as a 2020 update for theBeolit 17and still looks a little like a cool box. While room to keep drinks cold would be a surprising but brilliant feature, that’s not the case.

However, the Beolit 20 comes with ‘vastly’ improved battery life and can last 30% longer at normal volume levels. The huge battery means the Qi wireless charger can top up your compatible phone without needing to worry about the music suddenly dying.

As well as phones, you can charge other compatible devices such aswireless earbudcases.

It’s still important to sound good and inside there 5.5in ‘long-stroke wideband’ woofer as well as three 1.5in full-range drivers and two 4in passive bass radiators. You get True360 omnidirectional sound and can stereo pair two speakers, or even with the older Beolit 17.

A tweaked design sees “Repeated angled lines and spiraling corners give a distinct and dynamic look whilst optimizing acoustic performance with 45% air transparency for clear, refined sound.”

The buttons are more durable, and the vegetable-tanned leather strap helps you carry it around.

The B&O Beolit 20 isavailable nowin Grey Mist and Black Anthracite and costs £450/US$500. Check out our chart of thebest Bluetooth speakersto see rivals.
