EE announces six UK cities to receive 5G networks
EE is planning to active 5G networks in six cities across the UK:
These will be the first to make use of the networks which should be up and running by mid-2019.
Another 10 cities are planned to be added to this list by roughly this time next year. EE is leading the charge on this front, beating other networks to the punch. The cities include:

Vodafone, O2 and Three are also investigating the implementation of 5G across their networks too. 5G has been rolled out in the UK slower than expected due to security concerns regarding hardware. Specifically, Huawei hardware has been called into question as both Australia and the US has prevented it from being used in 5G networks there.
Marc Allera, Head of the Consumer division at BT (EE’s owners)released a statementwhere he said customers could expect to enjoy faster speeds and better reliability. “We have the ambition to connect our customers to 4G, 5G or wi-fi 100% of the time.”
