Currys’ January sale ends tomorrow, but there are still some excellent deals available. If you’re in the market for a new everyday laptop, now is a great time to take the plunge.

Pavilion is one of HP’s most successful product lines. It focuses on consumers, delivering a great laptop experience that won’t break the bank. This 2021 model refines and tweaks the formula we’ve become familiar with in recent years, delivering a great all-round experience.
We were impressed by performance from the baseline Core i3 processor inour full review, but this version steps up to Core i5. Combined with 8GB of RAM and Iris Xe integrated graphics, only the most demanding workloads will be out of reach. This top-spec configuration also has a generous 512GB SSD, offering plenty of space for all your apps and files.
Despite having a 14in Full HD display, the device is impressively compact and lightweight. There’s also a good port selection, with USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, SD card reader and a 3.5mm headphone jack all included.
Battery life is a slight weakness, but it should still last most of a full working day. Charging is relatively quick, while speakers tuned by B&O are another highlight.
At this new price point, the HP Pavilion 14 performs strongly when compared to thebudget laptop competition. Since our review was published, the device now comes withWindows 11pre-installed.
