Get a £950 trade-in discount on Surface Pro X & Laptop Go
Until October 31, those pining for a discount on Microsoft’s new premium Surface devices can benefit from a trade-in offer thatslashes up to £950on the upcoming Surface Laptop Go and the top-spec Surface Pro X Platinum – both of which release on27 October.
More affordable Pro X tablets with lower configurations, in matte black, went on sale 13 October – days before the Apple iPad Air 4 isrumouredto go on sale.
The up to £950 trade-in value applies to purchases made between 1 October to 31 October, and you can only claim on two orders at most.
There are a few other conditions as well: your old device must be in working condition, without a cracked screen, and manufactured within the last two years (unless otherwise indicated). You must also provide the power cords.
You can trade in any Core i5 or Core i7 devices and get up to £300 off, while older Surface devices like the Surface Laptop 2 get £500 cashback even if it’s five years old.
You can trade in Mac and Chromebooks too. This is where that hefty figure comes in. If you have a MacBook Pro 15in up to 2 years old, Microsoft can give you £950 in return.
The process is simple. Pre-order a qualifying Microsoft Surface Laptop Go or Surface Pro X Platinumfrom Microsoft’s website here, then use the online claim formfound herewithin 30 days of your delivery date.
You’ll then need to package and send your trade-in device to arrive at Microsoft’s trade-in centre within 15 days of approval. Once it’s arrived, you’ll receive your agreed reward directly into your bank account within 14 days.
Surface Laptop Go & Surface Pro X Platinum – how much do they cost?
The Laptop Go is a mid-priced addition to Microsoft’s existing Surface Laptop range, but incorporates the lightweight portability of theSurface GoandSurface Go 2devices. Microsoft claims the Laptop Go is it’s lightest Surface Laptop yet.
Surface Laptop Goprices start at £549 (you can pre-order now)for the base model, which offers an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Prices stay in the mid-range (that is, below £1000) because all Laptop Go configurations share the Core i5 chip – that is, for £899 you can bump up the storage and RAM all the way up to 256GB/8GB RAM, but the Core i5 processor stays the same.
If money’s no object, the Surface Pro X 2-in-1 tablet with 4G connectivity start at £899. This price is for the model with 128GB storage/8GB RAM, but the Platinum models which are nowavailable to pre-orderoffer a heftier 16GB RAM with either 256GB (£1,549) or £512GB (£1,849)storage.
