Get a free vinyl today in London pop-up record store
London music fans rejoice, as today you can get a free vinyl by visiting the Smarty Disc-overy store in Soho. The pop-up store is open in celebration of Record Store Day and is free to visit. However, there is a quirky twist.
Every album in the store will be covered and sealed, so you won’t know what you’re selecting. The idea is to help people discover new music, with the selection including AJ Tracey and Ziggy Stardust. You could end up finding a gem, as there are rare finds on hand, as well as new releases.
You can go to the official Smarty pop-up store fromtoday, Friday 16 July, until 7pm at 19 Air Street, London, W1B 5AG.
You also don’t have to wait to listen to your record. There’s a listening station and a DJ at the store, so you can request for your vinyl to immediately be played.
Record Store Day is a national event taking place tomorrow (17 July) and offers special vinyl releases and performances from local musicians and artists. You can find out if your local store is participating over on theRecord Store Day website.
