Grab this Call of Duty-themed Xperia 5 II deal in time for Christmas
The Sony Xperia 5 II is a capable smartphone, offering a 6.1in CineWide display with a buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate, a powerful processor and long battery life, making it a great candidate for gamers that want quick response time and high frame rates when playing mobile games.
Sony knows it, and what better way to showcase that than with a limited-time Call of Duty Mobile deal tailored to gamers – and the best part is you’ll get it in time for Christmas if you’re quick.
The offer, currently available not only directly fromSonybutVodafoneandO2too, offers a whopping 18,000 Call of Duty mobile CP points, a DualShock 4 controller and a mobile mount to connect the phone to the controller with every purchase of the Sony Xperia 5 II between now and Christmas Day (or 23 December from Vodafone).
You can buy it outright for £799 from Sony, or get it on contract if you prefer – the bundle is available both ways.
Once your shiny new Xperia 5 II has been delivered, all you need to do is head to theXperia Rewards website, enter the phone’s IMEI number and follow the on-screen instructions to claim your gaming bundle.
Playing Call of Duty: Mobile with a controller is a gamechanger, bringing the mobile title much more in-line with its console counterpart with many of the same popular maps and game modes. It’s much more responsive than playing with a touchscreen, that’s for sure!
The included mount makes connecting the Xperia 5 II to the DualShock 4 a doddle too.
The DualShock 4 isn’tjustcompatible with Call of Duty Mobile either – there are plenty of games on Android that offer dedicated controller support, including the equally popular PUBG Mobile.
It also opens up the ability to use game streaming apps and enjoy AAA games on the smartphone, with the likes of theRemote Play appif you’ve got a PS4 or PS5 andNvidia GeForce Nowif you want to go all-in on cloud gaming.
We gave the Sony Xperia 5 II a four-star rating and the coveted Tech Advisor Recommended award when we reviewed it back in October, commenting on the stunning 21:9 120Hz OLED display not even offered by the premium Xperia 1 II and superb performance across the board.
Other features, like stereo front-facing speakers, a notch-less design and the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack help make the Xperia 5 II stand out, but admittedly, it’s not quite as capable as similarly priced smartphones in the camera department.
