The 148thBritish Open takes place at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland for the first time in 68 years, and countryman Rory McIlroy will hope this is the spark his game needs to ensure he wins an elusive fifth major.
Last year’s winner Francesco Molinari defends his title from a resurgent Tiger Woods who won his 15thmajor at the Masters in April and Brooks Koepka, always a force at the majors despite recently losing out on his third US Open in a row to first time major winner Gary Woodland.
