Huawei P40 and P40 Pro designs leak ahead of launch
Alleged images of the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro have been leaked by reputable industry leakerEvan Blass. The two phones have dual front facing camera cut outs in the top left corner, while the Pro model sports a near bezelless front on view with a screen that appears to fall away at the edges.
The regular P40 appears to have a flat display. The P40 Pro seems to have an in display fingerprint readers, a feature that will hopefully also be on the regular P40 but isn’t shown in these renders.

The phones will represent the first time Huawei’s P series devices have not had Google services or app support as they’re the first released since Huawei’s May 2019 US trade ban that bars it from working directly with Google. The Mate 30 series did not have Google services either, and has suffered poor sales in the west since its release because of it.
A Paris launch event was scrapped due to coronavirus travel restrictions and concerns, so Huawei PR has confirmed that the launch will happenonline instead on 26 March at 1pm UK time.
2/2 But this year is like no other and for the safety and comfort of everyone the global P40 will be virtual and streamed online. I’ll miss seeing the media and our global PR teams but it’s the right thing to do. Stay tuned, the P40 powerhouse is coming.
After these leaks there’s not much else for Huawei to announce, with Blass earlier teasing the below image of all the available colours of both phones:
We’re interested to get the phones in for review and see once again if we can in any way recommend a Huawei phone without Google services.
