Mobvoi Earbuds Gesture head-tracking headphones go on sale

Mobvoi’s wireless earbuds with head motion gestures along with a whopping 50-hour battery life are now on sale.

The firm behind TicPods and TicWatch products has launched the Mobvoi Earbuds Gesture following a successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. They wereannounced back in August last year.

One of the more interesting features here is the head gestures you can use. Using TicMotion technology seen in theTicPods 2 Pro, you can nod or shake your head to accept or reject phone calls. The firm says this adheres to its “vision of defining the next generation of human-machine interaction.”

If you don’t feel comfortable doing that, especially in public, then the headphones still have touch sensitive controls.

Controls aside, the Mobvoi Earbuds Gesture offer one of the longest battery life figures on the market. With a 90mA battery in each bud, they can last 10 hours of playback. The 600mA case can hold approximately five charges.

This means they can give theCambridge Audio Melomania Toucha run for their money at a fraction of the price. The compact case offers USB-C for charging.

Other specs include Bluetooth 5.0, dual-mic noise cancellation, 6mm drivers and an IPX5 water and sweatproof rating. Mobvoi has launched them in a new ‘Raven’ black colour after user demand for more dark colours.

The Mobvoi Earbuds Gesture are available fromMobvoi.comandAmazonfor £79.99, US$89.99 or €89.99. Check out our chart of thebest true wireless earbuds.
