What are the Nokia 5.1 (2018) specs?
“Continuing with the classic design of the previous generation, the new Nokia 5.1 is understated, compact and effortlessly stylish. It gets its structural integrity from a single block of 6000 series aluminium, refined through a rigorous 33 stage process of machining, anodising and polishing to give an exquisite satin finish and feel in the hand,” says HMD.
Following the trend in the smartphone world, the Nokia 5.1 has a larger screen than before – now 5.5in making it 0.3in bigger. It’s also higher resolution at Full HD+, the plus indicating that the phone uses a modern 18:9 aspect ratio.
Inside is a switch from Qualcomm to MediaTek and the Helio P18 octa-core processor with HMD promising 40 percent better performance compared to the previous generation. There will be two memory and storage options at either 2/16GB or 3/32GB.
If that’s not enough storage, there’s a microSD card slot for adding up to 128GB.
The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the back to make room for that taller screen which is where you’ll find a 16Mp camera – up from 13Mp – and the front camera remains at 8Mp.
There’s no jump to USB-C, but the Nokia 5.1 comes with a headphone jack, 2970mAh battery and Android 8.0 Oreo.
The new Nokia 5.1 will come in three colour options: Copper, Tempered Blue and Black – the latter available a few weeks later.
