Nokia Android tablet UK release date rumours: When is the Nokia Android tablet coming out?

Nokia Android tablet release date: February 2017 (TBC)

Nokia will have a presence at the annual Mobile World Congress tradeshow in Barcelona at the end of February 2017, and it has already confirmed it will beannouncing new smartphones. The fact the rumoured Nokia Android tablet is in a state ready to benchmark suggests it is also nearing completion and may too get a big reveal at the show.

As to a specific UK release date we will have to wait and see, since the only Nokia Android device unveiled so far has been the China-only Nokia 6. Nokia has promised other phones will be available globally, but this does not necessarily extend to its tablets. We’ll update this article as soon as we know more.

Nokia Android tablet specification rumours: What to expect from new Nokia tablet

It’s important to point out that all the Nokia Android tablet rumours appear to stem from a single GFXBench listing, shown below (click to enlarge) and discovered byNokiaPowerUser.

It would appear that the device is a rival to the monster Samsung Galaxy View announced at IFA 2015. Like that device it has an 18.4in screen, though at a higher Quad-HD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.

The Nokia tablet will run Android 7.0 Nougat, but the operating system is referred to in the benchmark listing as ‘Android FIH Edition’. Foxconn’s FIH Mobile owns rights to the Nokia brand.

It’s powered by the 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip (the same as is expected to be seen in the forthcomingflagship Nokia Android phoneandGalaxy S8), along with the Adreno 540 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

GFXBench lists a 12Mp camera, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, a Compass and cellular connectivity (single-SIM).
