Nvidia announces Geforce RTX 20 Series – from $499
Nvidia has unveiled the next generation of Geforce graphics cards atGamescom 2018, and they’re somehow both faster and cheaper than any of the leaks and rumours suggested.

The new Geforce RTX 20 series includes three main cards, with prices starting from just $499 in the US, available topre-order right nowahead of a full release on20 September.
All three cards are built on the new Turing architecture, which for the first time brings support for real-time ray tracing to consumer graphics cards. In case you’re not aware, that’s tech that offers more realistic shadows, reflection, and general lighting by simulating individual rays of virtual light as they move about the environment.
The closest to a budget entry is the RTX 2070, which still manages to pack in 8GB of GDDR6 RAM and support for real-time ray tracing and AI graphics improvements thanks to the Turing architecture – which it claims is so powerful that even the 2070 is more than twice as fast as the previous flagship 1080 Ti. This is the only card not available to pre-order just yet.
The RTX 2080 runs a little pricier at $699, while the top-of-the-line RTX 2080 Ti – which jumps up to 11GB of RAM – starts from $999. All those are the prices that Nvidia announced at its event, though prices are actually a little higher on Nvidia’s site, where you can alreadypre-order the Founders Editions of the cards– for £569/$599, £749/$799, and £1,099/$1,199 respectively.
