OnePlus 10T: Everything you need to know

OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 10T, a phone that looks like the OnePlus 10 Pro and will be sold alongside it for a lower price globally.

The 10T upgrades in certain areas with Qualcomm’s latest high-end Snapdragon processor and the addition of even faster charging, but loses the Hasselblad camera branding, telephoto lens, and wireless charging found on the 10 Pro.

Tech Advisor was at the OnePlus 10T launch in New York City to get the lowdown on the new Android flagship. You can also read our full and comprehensiveOnePlus 10T review.

How much does the OnePlus 10T cost?

The OnePlus 10T costs from $649/£629/€699 £799 for the moonstone black model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

A jade green version with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage will cost $749/£729/€799.

This makes it a decent saving on the $899/£799/€899 OnePlus 10 Pro and undercuts rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S22. It’s a smidge more than the Google Pixel 6.

What specs and features does the OnePlus 10T have?

The OnePlus 10T runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with either 8GB RAM and 128GB storage or 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.

It sports a flat 6.7in FHD+ OLED display, a boon for Android fans who don’t like the premium trend in recent years towards curved edge screens. An in-screen fingerprint sensor is present and correct.

Controversially for OnePlus fans, the 10T is the first flagship OnePlus phone to not have an alert slider, the physical three-position switch that can change the phone from ring, to vibrate, to silent.

Despite its absence,OnePlus executives told Tech Advisor they want to bring the alert slider backon future phones. The reason it has gone away for a bit is to keep the phone slim and fit in better cooling tech for the 4800mAh battery.

That battery is charged at a whopping 150W by the included charger in the box, but in a cost- and space-saving measure, there is no wireless charging.

The 10T uses the same main camera sensor as the OnePlus Nord 2T, Sony’s IMX766. The compant says it has tweaked the optics on the newer phone, but it is the same sensor.

That’s supported by 8Mp ultrawide and 2Mp macro lenses – no telephoto here. A 16Mp selfie camera rounds off the package. OnePlus packs in all its usual software smarts such as HDR, night mode, slo-mo video, and video recording up to 4K at 60fps.

The phone is rounded off with dual-nano SIM slots, NFC, and of course, 5G.
