OnePlus Hints at Waterproofing for OnePlus 6

A Tweet posted yesterday by OnePlus suggests that a new feature in its upcomingOnePlus 6will be waterproofing.

Several of the flagship phones with which it hopes to compete offer IP68 waterproofing, including the Samsung Galaxy S9 and iPhone X. By adding support for waterproofing it can level the playing field somewhat, making it an even more enticing proposition than phones that are significantly more expensive.

Whether the phone will be properly waterproof or merely splashproof remains to be seen, but the winking smiley alongside a caption about hating not being able to use your phone in the rain certainly suggests the company has something up its sleeve.

Don’t you just hate it when you have to stop using your phone when it rains? So do we ?pic.twitter.com/QEnOdm3Xtk

The OnePlus 6 is tipped to be announced in May, sporting a 19:9 AMOLED panel (with notch), the Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Check out our round up of thebest cases for the OnePlus 6.
