Oppo Reno 5 Series release date, price, specs and more
While Oppo only recently launched the Reno 4 Series in Western markets, the follow-up Oppo Reno 5 line arrived in China and a select few other markets just months later.
Oppo’s Reno line focuses on design as well as media consumption and creation, with this new assortment of handsets sporting near-identical aesthetics but leaning on updated hardware, including flagship-class silicon that muddies the waters between the company’s Find X2 and Reno lines.
Muddying those waters even further, the Reno 5 series isn’t launching globally, but two of its models have launched, re-branded as Find X3 devices.
When did the Oppo Reno 5 launch?
The Oppo Reno 5 line launched in China in December 2020.
The series is unlikely to launch globally, because the standard Reno 5 and the Reno 5 Pro+ have since been re-branded as theFind X3 Lite and Find X3 Neorespectively, making any further launch under the Reno branding unlikely.
How much does the Oppo Reno 5 cost?
In China the Reno 5 series starts at ¥3,299 (approximately £380/€415/$505).
The two models shipping globally cost as follows:
What features does the Oppo Reno 5 offer?
Just as the Reno 4 series debuted the company’s “fingerprint-proof” ‘Reno Glow’ finish, the Reno 5 range showcases a new “diamond glow” finish, with leakerDigital Chat Station, sharing macro photos comparing both the Reno 4’s and Reno 5’s finishes, side by side.
Now onto the specs, kicking things off with the most recently-unearthed member of the pack – the Reno 5 4G. Rather than simply disabling the standard Reno 5’s 5G modem, the 4G-only option sports a different chipset and a plastic back.

Oppo Reno 5 specs:
While both the Reno 5 and 5 Pro share memory, storage, camera and charging setups, the Pro opts for a larger 6.55in display, showcases MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ chipset and weighs a little less than its less-‘professional’ sibling.

Then there’s the Pro+ (or Pro Plus) – aka the Find X3 Neo.
This souped-up Reno 5 Pro blurs the lines of Oppo’s 2020 smartphone portfolio even further by introducing the same flagship-class Snapdragon 865 silicon that you’d expect to find in the likes of theFind X2andFind X2 Pro– officially the company’s 2020 flagship devices.
AsWHYLABshared on Weibo, the Reno 5 Pro+ trades up to the Snapdragon 865 and comes in an additional plain leather colourway, alongside its ‘glow’ finish.
Beyond that, the Pro+’s standout feature has to be the upgraded camera arrangement; with a 12Mp 2x telephoto snapper, a 16Mp ultrawide camera and the first phone in the world to debut Sony’s forthcoming 50Mp IMX766 camera sensor.
