Toshiba officially exits the laptop market Toshiba has left the laptop market by selling a minority stake in its own PC business to Sharp (viaThe Verge). Sharp bought Toshiba’s PC businessback in 2018. In the deal, Sharp bought 80.1% of the business, then renamed the laptop division as Dynabook. In astatementToshiba announced that Sharp had bought back the remaining 19.9% of shares in the Dynabook business making the Dynabook brand a wholly owned subsidiary of Sharp, thus ending Toshiba’s existence in the laptop market....
