Ring’s Video Doorbell 3 and 3 Plus are available now

Ring, the video doorbell company owned by Amazon, has released its latest line of home security products.

The big news is the Video Doorbell 3 and Video Doorbell 3 Plus, the first new generation of smart doorbell in nearly three years.

The latest generation adds an adjustable motion zone, which makes movement detectable between 1.5m and 4.5m from the door. There will also be some improvements to the Wi-Fi technology, which should ensure a more reliable connection as it integrates with the rest of your smart home.

The big feature with the Plus model is the ability to record four seconds of video before any motion is detected. Known as Pre-Roll, this should ensure users are in a better position to figure out the cause of any disturbance.

Ring has also announced the Chime (£29) and Chime Pro (£49), devices that are designed to work alongside the regular doorbell. Plugging these into a power socket means it will announce any notifications from the Doorbell, while it also doubles as a handy night light.

Ring Video Doorbells have long been a great addition to your smart home, particularly since Amazon’s 2017 purchase of the company gives it excellent Alexa integration.

The Ring video Doorbell 3 and 3 Plus are available now for£179and£199respectively.
