Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 rivals iPad 10.2
Samsung’s Life Unstoppable virtual launch event for IFA 2020 included a fair few existing products but the Galaxy Tab A7 is a new tablet and one for those who can’t afford theflagship Tab S7 range.
Mimicking the Galaxy A range of phones, the Tab A7 is a more budget-friendly Android tablet, although it’s not to be confused with the Galaxy Tab A 7.0 which arrived back in 2016.
This 2020 model comes with a large 10.4in screen, a little bigger thanApple’s iPad 10.2. It’s got a TFT panel with a 2000×1200 and around an 80% screen-to-body ratio with a symmetrical bezel.
Unlike the iPad, the Galaxy Tab A7 has four speakers and Dolby Atmos support and Samsung is calling it an “on-the-go picture and sound entertainment experience,” with long-lasting battery via a 7040mAh cell.
The Korean tech giant is also pitching thetabletas a good choice for younger users thanks to the inclusion of the Samsung Kids app which “a variety of educational and entertaining content.”
According toGSMArena, further specifications for the Galaxy Tab A7 include an unspecified octa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM. There’s 32- or 64GB of internal storage and a microSD cards slot to add more.
Lastly, the Tab A7 has USB-C, a headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, 5Mp front camera and 8Mp rear camera. Some markets will get the chance to buy a 4G LTE model.
There’s no word on when the tablet will be released or how much it will cost. However, we expect it to arrive in the next month or two and should be priced lower than the iPad 10.2 which starts at£349/US$329.
