The announcement continues an odd roadmap of tablets from the Korean firm which includes theGalaxy Tab S6– which arrived in August 2019 – and theGalaxy Tab S5ejust before that in April 2019.

There was no Galaxy Tab S5 and so the wait goes on for aGalaxy Tab S7. It’s all a bit mind boggling when you consider that the S5e is still on sale at a higher price, but let’s take a look at what the Tab S6 Lite has to offer.

When is the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite release date?

The tablet was already spotted on other Samsung sites like Indonesia this week but we now know that the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a UK release date of30 April.

How much does the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite cost?

You canpre-order the new tablet now from Samsungand the Tab S6 Lite has a reasonable price tag of£349.

That will get you the Wi-Fi model but you can get an LTE version if you like at£399. Pre-ordering from the official store will bag you a free Book Cover worth £59.

Both those prices are lower than the equivalent Tab S5e whichstarts at £379.

What are the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite specs?

In a nutshell, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a tablet designed to be used for a range of different tasks at an affordable price. It’s got a decent sized screen and comes with a Samsung S Pen stylus in the box.

The S Pen has been redesigned to make it “as practical and comfortable to use as a traditional pen”. It’s just 7.03g, has improved pen latency and 0.7mm pen tip for accuracy.

Samsung usually offers AMOLED screen technology but the S6 Lite drops to a more basic TFT panel to achieve the price point. It’s still got a decent enough 2000×1200 resolution over its 10.4in size along with small bezels.

Internally the S6 Lite has an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. As mentioned earlier, you can get a regular Wi-Fi online model or one with 4G LTE connectivity for internet on the go without hot spotting.

You get Android 10 software with Samsung’s One UI 2 interface, just like the Galaxy S20 smartphone range.

Other specs include an 8Mp rear camera, 5Mp selfie camera, USB-C, dual-speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 7040mAh battery.

The Tab S6 Lite is available in two colours: Oxford Grey, Angora Blue.
