Samsung’s Bespoke fridges are getting a smart upgrade for 2022
Samsung has added a range of French Door fridges to its Bespoke lineup. The appliances have been unveiled at CES 2022 in Las Vegas. What’s more, there’s new tech inside and new colour options available across the range.
The flat-fronted French Door fridge will be available in three-door, four-door and Family Hub models. This is a big development as, up until now, consumers have had to choose between Samsung smarts and Bespoke customisation.
Family Hub is a smart interface built into the fridge that allows users to remotely view inside, share schedules across the family, play music, mirror TV, stream content and more. It hasn’t been available on any Bespoke models until now.
The new French Door fridges will feature upgraded camera technology for their View Inside feature, which will allow food labels to be scanned.
In addition, Family Hub will bring support for Alexa in selected regions in 2022, so users can integrate home assistant capabilities and Amazon ordering.
To date, the Bespoke line has focused more on aesthetics and dimensions than technology. They’re modular fridge and fridge freezer units that customers can put together in any configuration they like and then customise with front panels in different colours.
In the UK, for example, you can buya one-door fridge, a one-door freezer and a fridge freezer unit – and that’s it, so far. There are more options in the US, where you can also buy the Four-Door Flex.
Like the Flex, the new Bespoke French Door refrigerators feature the switchable ‘FlexZone’ compartments that can either function as a fridge or a freezer, depending on what you want to store, and the ‘Beverage Center’, which dispenses filtered and flavoured water.
The French Door models come in a glass or steel finish. There are new colour options available for each. In glass, these include white, grey, pink, charcoal, morning blue, clementine and sunrise yellow. In steel, you can choose from Tuscan, matt black, navy, emerald green and stainless steel.
It’s reminiscent ofSamsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition.
A bolder range of colours is a welcome change. While the options so far have comprised a tasteful palette of blues, blushes and greys, they’ve been far too limited to be truly considered bespoke.
If you’re in the US, you canreserve your Bespoke French Door fridgeon the Samsung website and you’ll get $100 off your purchase. A UK release has not yet been confirmed.
