Sony confirms The Last of Us Part II will launch on 19 June

Don’t worry, no spoilers here, but the developer and its community of fans was hit when leaks of pre-release footage seemed to ruin key plot points for the game. Naughty Dog’s public reaction seems to suggest the leaks are genuine and reflect the final product.

But for fans immersed in online gaming communities, most even more so now in lockdown, it’s going to be tough to avoid the spoilers for the best part of two months.

Part II has been in the works since the original The Last of Us gained considerable critical acclaim on the PS3 in 2013. The sequel was due for release on 29 May whenSony said it would be delayed, so the 19 June bump is not too big a wait for players to get hold of the game.
