Sony to stream special PS5 event on 18 March
Sony has said it will broadcast a live ‘deep dive’ on its upcoming PlayStation 5 console on 18 March. Announced via Twitter, the event will be led by PS5’s lead system architect Mark Cerny and will be broadcast on the official PlayStation blog at 9am PT.
It will likely provide more concrete information on Sony’s next-gen hardware since theunsurprising logo was revealed at CES.
Along with the predictable name and logo, Sony has also previously confirmed the PS5 will use an AMD Ryzen CPU and a custom AMD GPU which together will be able to output 8K@120fps.

If the PS5 releases this year, which it is fully expected to do, it will come nearly seven years after the November 2013 launch of the PS4. That console was a full seven years after the PS3, showing Sony is staying consistent on its upgrade cycle.
The PS5 will go head to head in the market with the Xbox Series X.Microsoft announced full specs detailsfor its new hardware on 16 March. This upcoming Sony announcement should help ignite the race to market for this next generation of home video gaming.
