Sony Xperia 1 launch as it happened
Sony took to the stage early on a Monday morning to announce its range of new Android phones. It has simplified the names for 2019, so if you were expecting an XZ4, you’re actually getting an Xperia 1.
It also unveiled the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus.

It has a huge 6.5in OLED 21:9 screen with a 4K resolution and HDR support. It’s the first time Sony has used a triple rear camera like theSamsung Galaxy S10.
The firm also announced some mid-range phones too:
Xperia 10 / 10 Plus
The 10 is one of a pair, so you can choose between this or the Plus model. You can read ourhands-on reviewof these phones. Note that although they have 21:9 screens like the Xperia 1, they are not ‘CinemaWide’ screens, and don’t use OLED tech.
They’re on sale immediately in “select markets”. We’re told they’ll cost £329 and £429 respectively.
