TCL 2022 TVs include a 144Hz refresh rate for better gaming
TCL is now improving its Mini LED TVs by bringing a 144Hz refresh rate to its premium models in the 2022 range. The announcement was made at CES 2022.
The higherrefresh ratewill be most useful to keen gamers who need quick responsiveness and sharper imagery, such as those who play first-person shooters. Although it’s worth noting that next-gen consoles like thePlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are limited to 120Hzso the feature is really for PC gamers.
In addition, TVs in the range will also include over 1,000 local dimming zones for improved brightness and contrast on the panels. More models will also come equipped with Google TV OS.
TCL didn’t disclose any more specific specs, prices or release dates for its 2022 TVs, but it has confirmed that more information about the 2022 TV range will be available later in this quarter – so in the next few months.
TCL unveiled theX92 seriesfor the UK in September 2021, so there may be a wait before these TVs hit the shelves.
All these new panel features will work well with TCL’s Game Master mode with VRR (variable refresh rate), as well as the wide-angle mode for specific titles.
TCL also announced a new whopping 98in QLED TV model in its XL TV series, which comes with 4K gaming and Google TV. The TV retails for just under $8,000 and is available to purchase from today in the US.
In addition, TCL is also introducing the TCL Home app to its range of TVs which can be used to control both entertainment apps and compatible smart home appliances, such as the TCL air purifier or robot vacuum cleaner.
The new details about the 2022 TV range weren’t the only things unveiled at CES from TCL. The brand also announced the30 Series phone range, and its first-ever laptop, theTCL Book 14 Go.
