The OnePlus 8 Pro has a secret X-ray camera mode

TheOnePlus 8 Pro’s camera has been found to be hiding the ability to be used as an X-ray in some circumstances. The Photocrom filter in the camera app is able to see through plastics without an IR shield, meaning you can use it to take a look inside items like set top boxes, remote controls and other tech.

Concept designer Ben Geskin appears to have discovered the feature that isn’t advertised by OnePlus, leading us to wonder if the company was even aware of the trick.

Filters are commonly built into smartphone camera apps to let you take photos with cool colour and lighting effects. It seems like the combination of camera sensor and filter in this case has produced an unexpected X-ray mode. OnePlus has yet to comment if this was an Easter egg it has been waiting for people to find.
