Toshiba’s new TV is the first with hands-free Alexa

Alexa is in just about every smart device out there, but Toshiba’s new TV is the first to offer Amazon’s digital assistant completely hands-free.

The Toshiba WK3 features a far-field microphone in the bezel meaning it can hear you speak commands from across the room. Othersmart TVdevices haveAlexabuilt-in, but typically via the remote control.

Whether you’ve lost the remote or your hands simply aren’t free, Alexa can perform a range of tasks for you. Whether you need to turn the TV off while carrying a child to bed, or request a wake-up playlist of music.

With Freeview Play, there’s plenty to watch on the WK3 with access to 85 live Freeview channels as well as various on-demand services including BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, UKTV Play and CBS Catchup Channels UK.

The Toshiba WK3 is priced just £179 if you’re ok with a 24in size, perfect for the kitchen perhaps, or you can jump up to 32in for£199if needed.
