Vivo V20 release date, price & specs news
The Vivo V20 series is here – sort of. Vivo has announced each of the phones in dribs and drabs, first unveiling the names in Europe, then slowly revealing specs for each device before launching the phones in India and other southeast Asian markets, as they slowly roll out elsewhere.
These three mid-rangers offer solid specs, with a strong focus on the camera, with up to 44Mp lenses for the selfie camera, and even more on the rear of the phone. Fast charging, OLED displays, and slim designs reminiscent of theX50 seriesround out the V20 phones and make them very tempting indeed. Oh, and did we mention the V20 comes with Android 11?
It may not be out in the UK officially, but we’ve tested it out anyway, so read ourVivo V20 reviewto find out our thoughts – or read on for the core specs and other key info.
When is the Vivo V20 release date?
The three phones – the V20, V20 Pro, and V20 SE – are out now in several southeast Asian countries including India, but the global rollout has been slower. The V20 series was actually originally announced at a European event, suggesting that the phones will eventually arrive in at least some European markets. We don’t know which or when though.
How much does the V20 series cost?
We don’t have European pricing for the V20 phones yet, but here are estimates for the UK based on the Asian prices:
Bear in mind that if the phones do come to Europe, we would expect prices to rise for the European market – so if you’re tempted to buy a V20 thenimporting nowmight be a cheaper option.
Vivo V20 specs & design
The V20 is the main phone in the range. It boasts a slick design that’s reminiscent of the X50, but smaller, slimmer, and simplified. The specs are led by the 64Mp main camera and 44Mp selfie lens, but there’s plenty else to like here.
Vivo V20 Pro specs & design
In case the name doesn’t give it away, the V20 Pro is the beefier big brother of the V20 – though it’s actually technically fractionally smaller.
The main differences are a faster processor in the Snapdragon 765G, which in turn enables 5G support, and an additional 8Mp wide-angle selfie camera. Surprisingly the V20 Pro only ships with Android 10, but will presumably get an update to Android 11 not long after launch.
Vivo V20 SE specs & design
Then there’s the SE, which is the cheap-and-cheerful take on the line. The design is a little different, with a long oblong camera module rather than the boxy version seen on the other two phones, and it also comes in different colours, and drops specs on both the processor and camera module.
