What is Amazon Pantry? How to Shop Amazon Groceries

Amazon has been selling groceries for a while now, but if you’re not a Prime member you’ll have spotted none of it is available to you. So how do you shopAmazon Pantry, and how can you use it to save money on your supermarket shop?

What is Amazon Pantry?

Amazon Pantry is the retailer’s grocery shopping service. It offers low prices on everyday shopping items, with no minimum spend, and can all be delivered to your door the next day.

All eligible items are marked with the Amazon Pantry logo.

How do you sign up to Amazon Pantry?

Amazon Pantry is an Amazon Prime exclusive service, which means membership is automatic when yousign up to Prime.

Amazon Prime hasdozens of benefits, including access to Prime Video, Prime Music and free next day delivery on all applicable orders from Amazon. It costs £7.99/US$12.99 per month (or £79/$119.99 annually), but you cansign up for a 30-day trial completely free of charge. (Be sure to remember tocancelif you don’t wish to be charged.)

How do Amazon Pantry delivery charges work?

Whereas supermarkets charge you a one-off delivery fee that can be anything from £5+ per shop, Amazon Pantry charges you per virtual box, and tells you how full is your box after each item you add. This means that if you don’t have a large shop you could potentially save money on delivery charges.

You do not have to fill a box to 100%, and Amazon will pack your order in an appropriately sized box. A single box can hold up to 20kg, which is rather a lot of shopping.

Amazon also routinely runsoffersthat net you free delivery when you purchase selected items.

Delivery charges for Prime customers are otherwise calculated at £2.99 for the first box, and 99p for each additional box.
