Xiaomi launches Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic

As expected, Xiaomi has announced a new pair of budget wireless earbudsalongside other gadgetsat its Global Ecosystem Product Launch. The Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic are available now for under £50 and seem to be anything but basic.

It’s no surprise that these earphones were on the menu for the launch event, considering Xiaomitweetedabout them a couple of days ago asking who couldn’t wait for them while mentioning the full name in a hashtag.

Well as the slightly long name suggests, the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic are a more simplified version of theflagship headphones.

Despite their low price tag of £49, they offer ‘environmental noise cancellation’ by way of dual-mics, meaning they can “filter background noise and ensure crystal clear sound quality for phone calls and music playback.”

They also have automatic pause when you take one earphone out thanks to in-ear detection and have touch controls for playback, calls and voice control.

In terms of battery life, the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic can last longer than the flagship model with five hours in the headphones and three charges in the case for a total of 20 hours.

They also have Bluetooth 5.0 LE, AAC and SBS codecs and USB-C so we’re struggling to see what qualifies them as ‘basic’.

These might be one of the best pairs ofbudget wireless earbudsyou can buy, and you can buy them from 16 July via theofficial Mi store.
