Xiaomi launches MIUI 11 with open beta from today
Xiaomi has launched the public beta for itsMIUI 11 Android skinbased on Android 10. It will roll out to a plethora of Xiaomi phones from October. It comes just after the release of theMi 9 Proand the nuts all-screenMi Mix Alphaconcept phone.
The new Android build is impressively debuting less than a month after Google’s official Android 10 release, just after the Huawei Mate 30 phones and the same week as the OnePlus 7T, the other major Android phones to rock the latest operating system.
As with most major OEM updates, MIUI brings a slightly changed aesthetic with softer tones and updated fonts and alert tones. Xiaomi claims the new fonts in the Chinese and English versions of MIUI 11 are the first in any OS to be dynamically scalable.
It’ll also allow you to highly customise the always on display with many different clocks or your own message in a range of designs.
The open beta for MIUI is available from today for a few Chinese Xiaomi phones and we expect a full version to be pushed to compatible devices in October.
The below timeline for devices receiveing MIUI 11 is viaGSMArenaand for Chinese devices, so roll out may vary in the rest of the world. It’s an impressively long list, though Xiaomi does release a lot of phones.
