Xiaomi’s budget Redmi 9 finally launches in the UK
Back in June, Xiaomi unveiled the budget Redmi 9 in Spain, available at theSpanish Mi Storefrom €149. Today the new budget phone is officially available at theUK Mi Store, where it costs £149 (usual price £159) and – until 23 August – ships with a freeMi Band 4.
All three colour options (Carbon Grey, Sunset Purple and Ocean Green) are on sale, though currently only the 4GB RAM/64GB storage option is available. In Spain you can also buy a 3GB/32GB option.
As anticipated, Redmi 9 is a big-battery budget phone with a quad-lens rear camera (8MP ultra-wide + 13MP wide + 2MP depth + 5MP macro). It has a 6.53in Full-HD+ IPS Dot Drop display, a 2GHz MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core chipset, and – in common with theRedmi Note 9 series– a high-capacity 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast wired charging.
Other notable features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR blaster and a rear fingerprint sensor.
